As July 15th approaches, we’re excited to give you the opportunity to meet our performers before our 2nd annual “I’ll Bring the Chocolate” event. One of the many things we are passionate about is supporting creative talent. The performers at our Summer Masquerade / Black and White Affair will be as superb as those at last year’s event. Tawanda Prince is preeminent as a published author, dynamic conference and retreat speaker, knowledgeable teacher, and compassionate mentor and life coach. As a visionary, she is on a mission to use her God-given gifts, talents and resources to empower women to “catch the vision” and move beyond their comfort zone to the possibility zone of the good life. She has a unique way of connecting with, encouraging and challenging others toward wholeness, which opens the pathway for living the good life they were created to live.
Her professional profile includes a diverse background of teaching, writing, leadership and communication. Tawanda earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Hunter College and a Master of Arts in Teaching degree from Bowie State University. Additionally, she completed certification as a Life Breakthrough Coach at Life Breakthrough Academy.
Tawanda was formerly an adjunct professor of English at Prince George’s County Community College; and an instructor at the University of Maryland. Additionally, she formerly taught high school English and was nationally recognized in Who’s Who Among Americas Teachers in 1996. In addition to formal classroom instruction, she has taught workshops across the country. Tawanda is a well sought after motivational speaker and facilitator in the arena of personal, professional and spiritual development who offers insight, life-experience and knowledge, leaving audiences inspired.
To add to her list of accomplishments, Tawanda Prince is the author of three inspirational books; “Thunder Knocking at My Heart”, “Wonderful Words of Life” and “Nouns, Verbs and Other Words; a Poetry Collection”. Furthermore, she has written two gospel stage plays, “Timeless: A Soulful Christmas Miracle”, and “Put a Ring On It!” and is the former host and executive producer of Faith Café Radio. Tawanda Prince is truly living “the good life” with purpose, passion and power! On Sunday, July 15th, Tawanda will lead us in a discussion of how to unmask your potential.
Rochelle Denise is an Eastern Shore native born and raised in Seaford, Delaware. She started singing at a young age in church under the influence of her mother who was also a singer. When her mother passed away, she was inspired to carry on her legacy as a singer. Rochelle is currently a mother of two beautiful little girls, residing in Baltimore County and working towards obtaining her bachelor’s degree in nursing. Her most recent single “So Beautiful” available for download on iTunes has been an influence to young people encouraging them to acknowledge and embrace their inner beauty and strength. Imani Wj Wright, a 19 year old artist from Baltimore, has been cultivating his musical skills and talents for the past 12 years. His growth as a musician includes his time on scholarship at the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins, where he was honored with an “Outstanding Performance’ award, and The Lyric Opera House of Baltimore, where he wrote an opera titled “Industrial Love”. He also spent an extensive stint at American University under the auspices of the Washington National Opera. Additionally, he was unanimously voted Male Singer of the Year at his high school. Imani has had mentoring from Grammy-respected artists such as Khalid and Bilal. Through his various experiences in music, Imani has developed a creative and eclectic sound that is undeniably unique. However, as pleasing as the sound is, the listener is also deeply challenged to delve into the messages, ideas, and vociferous claims of this young artist. The RoseGold Experience is a band that consists of highly talented young musicians. They love to share their musical experience through R&B, NeoSoul, R&B Soul, Gospel and Jazz to their followers, family, friends, audience, and the various communities of Baltimore. Established in 2012, The RoseGold Experience plays at a variety of venues and events, and performs for local and world renowned artists as their band. They also provide musical demonstrations for educational observations. We were honored to have this awesome band play for us at our annual event last year, and it only made sense to have them return to amaze us again!
