What I Know For Sure Wednesday – You Must Nourish Yourself First!

Published by andbutterfliestoo@gmail.com on

For us to feel good emotionally, we have to look after ourselves.

Ah, the holidays! “The most wonderful time of the year”.  With the fast pace activities associated with the season; entertaining, shopping, celebrating, cleaning, cooking, etc. it’s important to find time for ourselves.  The next few months is when we find time for everyone and everything except time for ourselves.  It’s as if when November starts, our “to do lists” become a mile long, and we become completely overloaded with activities.  With so much going on, it can be tough to maintain the self-care routines that are necessary in keeping us grounded.  Plenty of rest, healthy eating, exercise and time for ourselves can easily fall by the wayside as we tend to get caught in the hustle and bustle of the season and spread ourselves too thin.  Being an event planner and someone who enjoys entertaining, I have a natural affinity for the holidays.  But I also know that if I don’t practice at least one or two of these routines, the holidays can quickly become overwhelming.  It’s not always easy for me to follow by usual self-care rituals so I make it a point to commit to at least one; take a few hours out of the day for myself.

Recognize you can’t do it all – and be okay with that!

This holiday season remember to:

Take time to express gratitude

Recognize you can’t do it all – and be okay with that!

Alone time increases empathy – and the world needs it more than ever right now!

Solitude increases productivity…

Solitude sparks creativity…

Being alone can help you build mental strength…

Being alone gives you an opportunity to plan your life…

Solitude helps you know yourself.

To the start of a very happy and self-care holiday Butterflies!
